Rachel Green and Daniel Salo: Forgetting of Being

In the winter of 2017 Jack Straw and Arts and Visually Impaired Audiences (AVIA) presented an accessible art workshop at Jack Straw in conjunction with Rachel Green and Daniel Salo’s New Media Gallery installation Forgetting of Being, which incorporated dance, music, sound design, sculpture, and interactive software.

First Rachel and Salo performed in the gallery for the students, demonstrating how the audio and video reacted to the sounds they were making. Then, working with Rachel and Salo and our other teaching artists, the students performed in the gallery and created original visual art and sound recordings that were incorporated into the installation.
