The rates for studio services with a staff engineer are $45 per hour with a $35.00 annual membership contribution, and $55 per hour without a membership. Billing for remote recording includes travel time.
Cassette and DAT transfer are $35 per hour with a membership and $45 per hour without. Reel-to-reel and most other media are transferred in our studios at the regular hourly rate of $45/$55.
We are happy to provide CD or DVD copies of your project, or to copy the data to a USB drive you provide. CDs are $2 plus tax and DVDs are $4 plus tax.
As of October 25, 2021, Jack Straw Cultural Center requires proof of COVID 19 vaccination or a negative test (with matching ID) within 72 hours for visitors 12 and older. Our mask and social distancing requirements remain in place.
Sessions must be scheduled in advance. No drop-in services.
For the greatest flexibility, we recommend that you call 2-4 weeks in advance to book a voice recording session, and 4-6 weeks for music recording sessions. We can often book on shorter notice, so always ask!
Acceptable methods of payment: Mastercard, Visa, personal check, cash.
Payments must be made immediately following each session unless other arrangements have been made.
24-Hour Cancellation Policy: Client is responsible for the first hour of the scheduled recording time if the session is not cancelled within 24 hours of the start of the session.
CDRs and DVDs, and USB drives can be purchased directly from Jack Straw. If client provides media materials, Jack Straw is not responsible for results.
Sessions are billed as a minimum of one hour, and in 1/2-hour increments thereafter.
