Jack Straw first worked with students at South Seattle’s Concord International Elementary School in 2003, and we’ve worked with them every year since 2011. Each year a poet from Jack Straw works with 4th graders to help them write their own original poems, which they then record in the studio at Jack Straw.

In the 2013-2014 school year we began working with Concord 2nd graders as well. The 2nd graders write original poems, which are then turned into songs by Jack Straw teaching artists and sung by the whole class.
