Tara Youngborg: not a town but a landing page
In March 2026, Jack Straw and Arts and Visually Impaired Audiences (AVIA) presented an accessible youth and family art workshop with resident artist Tara Youngborg, in conjunction with her New Media Gallery installation not a town but a landing page.
After an audio described tour of the installation, participants explored the history of Jack Straw Cultural Center and recorded unique sounds from the Jack Straw archive and throughout the studios with Jack Straw engineers Daniel Guenther and Ayesha Ubayatilaka and teaching artist Laura Ferri. The students then worked with Tara, Daniel, and Ayesha to compile the various audio samples into a sound collage.
