Seattle World School: Our Bill of Rights 2017

Seattle World School 2017: Our Bill of RightsIn the spring of 2017, students from Erin Chen’s U.S. Government classes created Our Bill of Rights, a series of short radio plays about the Bill of Rights, to help students understand that the Constitution guarantees and protects their personal freedoms and rights as citizens. Since many of them World School’s students are new refugees or immigrants, these personal freedoms can have special meanings.

Jack Straw’s artist team worked with teacher Erin Chen and her students in small groups to research, write, perform, and record audio stories about an amendment important to them, showing how each amendment protects a different human right.
