Shelby Handler

Shelby Handler is a writer, translator, and organizer with Jewish Voice for Peace. Recent work has appeared in and or is forthcoming in Poetry, The Iowa Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Redivider, Poetry Northwest, The Journal, Black Warrior Review Online, Four Way Review, among others. Shelby has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and was a finalist for Palette Poetry’s Emerging Poet Prize, judged by Ilya Kaminsky. Shelby has received fellowships and grants from the Richard Hugo House, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Gay City Arts, Asylum Arts and the Yiddish Book Center.
