Rachel Ewen
Rachel Ewen is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Her vocals are the anchor of her music, much of which is written a capella, often driving in her car. Rachel’s lyrics are thoughtful and honest, with a balance like the natural moodiness of the Pacific Northwest climate; radical hope, growth and recovery, with sorrow, loneliness, and grief.
Rachel grew up in a family of musicians, where noise was a constant. The daughter of a classical vocalist and a jazz pianist, Rachel draws from her upbringing as she paves her own path as an artist. A lifelong songwriter, Rachel draws inspiration from a childhood of listening to the greats of the ’60s and ’70s such as Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan, alongside 2000s pop icons and boy bands. Blending jazz, pop, R&B, and indie rock musings with a hint of yacht rock, Rachel’s music can change genre track to track while maintaining a smooth and groovy feel.
