La Cantina is an all-female musical trio with a powerful mission: to inspire action, spark dialogue, and give voice to the unheard through social-justice-themed music. Featuring Sandra Aguilar (vocals, guitar, primary songwriter), Gema Aguilar (vocals, percussion), and Stephanie Hsu (vocals, bass, violin), Las Cantineras are passionate advocates for equity in housing, health care, and education, particularly in their beloved Yakima Valley. Known for their infectious blend of Latin rhythms, three-part vocal harmonies, and tri-lingual ballads, La Cantina draws inspiration from a wide array of influences, including global protest music and their own musical histories, and regularly sing originals by band member Sandra Aguilar. They bring an electrifying energy and emotional vulnerability to every performance, whether they are performing at the Seattle Center’s Mural Amphitheatre or in an intimate local cafè in Yakima. Their messages of equity and empowerment resonate with fans across cultures and languages, creating an unforgettable connection at every show.
