Cassie Mira is an interdisciplinary artist based in Seattle, WA. She is a 2020 artist-in-residence at The Seattle Residency Project where she is exploring material and form for loaded topics. Her work analyzes transitional spaces by exploring human interaction through transitional experiences and investigates upheaval and the adaptive response of individuals and communities. Informed by research in LGBTQIA+ history and the development of modern computing, she investigates upheaval and adaptive responses of individuals and communities. Incorporating assemblages with performance, ritual, and meditative process, her work evokes curiosity, inspires contemplation, and imagines new futures.
