Jack Straw New Media Gallery artist KTNA discusses her immersive installation The Kelp Forest, which explores the interconnectedness of marine ecosystems, ancestral memory, and environmental resilience. Drawing inspiration from Pacific Northwest kelp forests, the work combines sculptural tapestry, layered textures, and organic movement to evoke the feeling of being submerged within an underwater ecosystem. Through themes of regeneration, climate awareness, and cultural connection to water, the installation invites viewers to reflect on the fragile beauty of ocean life and humanity’s relationship to the natural world.
Doors open at 6:30. Talk starts at 7pm in person, or online via YouTube or Facebook.
