Melanie Sevcenko

Melanie Sevcenko is an audio editor & producer, writer, and sound artist. Based in Portland, OR, she currently edits and produces Live Wire, a nationally-syndicated public radio variety program from PRX. She’s also reported for numerous outlets, including The Guardian, American Public Media, NPR, BBC World Service, and CBC, amongst others. As an accomplished poet, Melanie’s debut collection I Still Go to Bed with Water was published by Unsolicited Press in 2022. She’s also the recipient of a Portland Arts Project Grant, from the Regional Arts & Culture Council, and has attended several writing residencies in the Pacific Northwest. Her sound art — which combines her own field recordings, poetry, musicscapes, and sampling — has been showcased on Transom, a Peabody Award-winning platform for new works in radio, as well as on famed community radio station WFMU.
