Public Events: Tuesday, 2/1/00 VirtualConcert Resident Composer Neto, VC Artistic Director Weber and Web designer Willi will demonstrate the Web component of VirtualConcert. They will reveal Neto's creative process on the Website through the composer's commentary, documentation of events and interactive models of Neto's challenges when composing this piece.
Wednesday, 2/2/00 The dynamic in performing new music is different when the composer is one of the performers from when the composer is not. Neto and Musicians Accord will explore through discussion and performance what happens in both of these situations. The first piece is by ensemble member composer-pianist Amy Rubin, Hallelujah Games. The second is Jovino Santos Neto's new work. Neto will work with the ensemble to guide them as they strive to realize his musical conception while the musicians will help Jovino make any adjustments and revisions.
Friday, 2/4/00 This entire residency will conclude with a concert of the new work by Jovino Santos Neto along with works by Patrick Clark and Laura Kaminsky, both Seattle composers, and Donald Marino and Amy Rubin. These will be performed by Musicians Accord: Gretchen Pusch (flute), Ted Mook (cello), Amy Rubin (piano), and William Trigg (percussion). Laura Kaminsky, Chair of the Music Department at Cornish College, is Artistic Director of Musicians Accord. Outreach Activities: Wednesday, 2/2/00
