February 1 - 4, 2000

Public Events:

Jack Straw Productions (address below)

VirtualConcert Resident Composer Neto, VC Artistic Director Weber and Web designer Willi will demonstrate the Web component of VirtualConcert. They will reveal Neto's creative process on the Website through the composer's commentary, documentation of events and interactive models of Neto's challenges when composing this piece.

Wednesday, 2/2/00
Composer-Performer Workshop

with Jovino Santos Neto and Musicians Accord
Jack Straw Productions (address below)
7:30 PM
Free

The dynamic in performing new music is different when the composer is one of the performers from when the composer is not. Neto and Musicians Accord will explore through discussion and performance what happens in both of these situations. The first piece is by ensemble member composer-pianist Amy Rubin, Hallelujah Games. The second is Jovino Santos Neto's new work. Neto will work with the ensemble to guide them as they strive to realize his musical conception while the musicians will help Jovino make any adjustments and revisions.
